Australian Bucket List App Squirrel Goes International
Fin-tech startup app Squirrel helps you build, plan and tick off your Bucket List goals in life.
Brisbane, Australia, February 28, 2017 (Newswire.com) - Australian fin-tech start up Blue Squirrel has taken their #1 Finance app, Squirrel to the international stage. The app helps people build, share and achieve their Bucket List goals.
Founded by Amanda Andrews and Andrew Kiel, the first iteration of the app was tested in the AU App Store in September 2016, and has now been refitted for an international audience.
"There's so much on offer, and when you find something you like you simply add it to your buckets and build upon it."
Andrew Kiel, CoFounder
“We received a great response to Squirrel and reaching #1 in our category just 5 months after launching was very confirming – there’s a real hunger for a complete solution to bucket listing to help us organize and ultimately achieve our goals, whatever they may be!”
Amanda said she's now excited and ready to share Squirrel with a larger community, “after listening to initial feedback and refining the app experience we’re confident people from all over the globe will be loving Squirrel”.
“We’re a small team, but we got a big goal to help millions of people get more out of life, one bucket list at a time with this app. I’m actually really proud of what we’ve been able to achieve, in a short timeframe, on bootstrapped resources” Andrews said. “We’re incredibly grateful for the support we’ve received and can’t wait to keep growing to enhance Squirrel for our Squirreller tribe to enjoy”
Andrews said the timing of the global app release is strategic. “The timing is ideal as we’re still in early in the new year, just right to set or revisit the 2017 goals and get going on ticking them off - in the ultimate goals app - Squirrel – of course!”
Kiel believes that Squirrel also creates a unique opportunity for the Australian retail and tourism sector to showcase products and experiences to a large engaged audience.
“With a large portion of Bucket Lists involving travel and lifestyle, we feel there’s a huge opportunity for businesses to be creating free content that showcases Australia and Australian products to an international audience and vice versa.”
Talking about how people discover items to add to their bucket lists, Kiel said the new app is focused on easily exploring ideas from people all over the world. “There’s so much on offer, and when you find something you like you simply add it to your buckets and build upon it.”
Squirrel aims to lift the lid on the preconceptions of a Bucket List as Amanda expressed. “Everyone is different with their own unique goals. Big or small, we wanted to build an app that can handle any type of goal and we feel we’ve done that well,” Amanda said they were amazed at the variety of what’s on peoples bucket lists (when they share them), from new homes to new boobs - and everything in between!
“Whether you’re looking to try something new, indulge a little or a lot, renovate your space, drive that new car, or simply get the family budget under control, Squirrel can help you build, plan and ultimately.. achieve it – which is where the real joy is!” Andrews said.
Squirrel is now available in over 85 countries on the Apple App Store.
