Author Blurs Line Between Personal Development and Fiction in New Book
Psychology and Self-Reflection Merge with Thriller Storyline
AUSTIN, Texas, March 29, 2019 (Newswire.com) - Deception License by R J. Red has been recently released in print on March 4, 2019. The e-book is also currently available online and through Amazon. It chronicles the journey of Galina, a capable albeit dangerous woman who struggles to cope with her own feelings upon joining the SVR - The Russian Foreign Intelligence Service.
The literary landscape is filled with books telling the stories of spies, masterminds, international espionage, deception and their consequences. R J. Red, however, has brought the personal stakes the reader may have in consuming such stories to the fore. He hopes that by reading about Galina's story, the reader will reflect upon their own life. In analyzing and interpreting Galina's mistakes, readers will find themselves stacking them against their own personal story and experiences thus creating moments of personal reflection.
“I believe, Galina’s interesting methods of gathering intelligence, her way of adding emotions to her life, making mistakes, regrets, falling in love, and her choice of living her life will be fascinating for the readers,” says Red.
While all good fiction lends itself to the reader to identify with the central characters, Red takes it a step further by writing the novel in the manner of a self-analytical book, though in the guise of fiction. He implements numerous quotations from the likes of Sigmund Freud, Erich Fromm and Alfred Adler which gives the reader a window into the psychology of what Galina is experiencing along with their own inner-workings.
Boston-born Red, obtained a degree in psychology and moved onto obtaining a law degree. He also has a Ph.D. in criminal psychology. It is this combination which lends itself naturally to telling a story about murders and conspiracies and a heroine dealing with the fallout of having to confront her manipulation of hatred, lust and love.
Editor in Chief of YD Publishing, Henry Hoffnar, says, “The novel is artfully written to immerse the readers into patriotism, sexuality, and government conspiracy blended with a personal interest in the love and thrills of Galina.” He believes the story is unique in the way it is told: “Aspects of deceiving and being deceived, the difference between love and sexuality, remarkable techniques of lying, and eliminating targets by using unique psychological methods are the elements that make this novel extraordinary and striking.” Red is excited the book is now widely available in print form, as well, and hopes it reaches a wide variety of readers who prefer either print or digital editions. Rey hopes to, “...continue to write the sequence depending on the feedback that I receive from the readers.”
