Prospect, CT, USA, July 14, 2014 (Newswire.com) - Author of The A to Z of Forgotten Animals Has Created a Full-length Music Video for Children.
This is John Altson's first children's DVD. He had previously published three children's books: What Happened to Grandpa? A child views the hereafter through the world's major religions in 2009, The A to Z of Forgotten Animals in 2010, and Veggies A-Z: See 'em, Rhyme 'em, Cook 'em, Eat 'em in 2013.
Inspired by Walt Disney's "Fantasia", this DVD is an introduction to twenty-one of the world's great classical music composers and most popular pieces. The video footage for each music selection has been carefully selected from a mixture of amateur and professional works; the videos cover categories from animals to space exploration. The sources for the video footage were YouTube and Vimeo, with written permissions from the video producers. The classical music used was in the public domain.
While the DVD is intended for children six-to-ten, it should have great appeal to their parents and to an adult audience.
John Altson firmly believes that exposure to classical music at an early age is a fundamental necessity for brain development. He points out that there have been numerous studies to support this hypothesis. "Hopefully," Mr. Altson points out, "This DVD will serve to get many children excited about the beauty and grandeur of classical music."
This DVD is for sale on CreateSpace and Amazon
John has a degree in mathematics from Hunter College in New York City and is a member of Pi Mu Epsilon, the Mathematics Honor Society. He is retired, living in Prospect, Connecticut with his wife Barbara.
