Authority Shares 5 Key Areas for Recovering After Foreclosure or Short Sale

As concerns over the economy and increases in area foreclosures continue, one company's initiative helps foreclosed families recover emotionally and reposition themselves financially to return to homeownership through a comprehensive 5-part program

Baltimore, MD - Who is going to help the tens of thousands of thousands of families who already lost their home to foreclosure in the Baltimore and Washington metropolitan regions? According to the Washington Business Journal, Maryland foreclosures increased 59% from the second quarter, which means 1 in 157 Maryland homes are in foreclosure, and Virginia's rate is up 8% for the same time period with 1 in every 196 homes in foreclosure (October 15, 2009).

The next Post Foreclosure Help Financial Recovery Program workshop is Saturday, November 7, 2009 at 1300 Mercantile Lane in Upper Marlboro, MD. The education workshop runs from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and costs $99 per person or $149 per couple. Attendees must pre-register online at www.PostForeclosureHelp.org because seating is limited to maximize learning.

Workshop attendees will learn the 5 key areas to focus on to reposition themselves financially after foreclosure so they can return to homeownership if they choose. These key areas include effective money management to increase cashflow and restore savings, systematically working to increase credit scores, and much more. Everyone who attends the Post Foreclosure Help Financial Recovery Workshop will leave with the written framework for his or her personal financial recovery plan.

Jennifer Matthews, author and creator of the Post Foreclosure Help Financial Recovery Program, will lead the workshop. She was a featured expert in the September 2009 PBS mini-documentary, Facing the Mortgage Crisis in DC that aired on WHUT. An attendee at a previous workshop states, "Jennifer was great! I now have hope on being able to one day own a home again now that we lost everything" (Name withheld. She is a wife and mother of young children. Her and her husband were foreclosed upon in Maryland and now live in Alexandria, VA). Jennifer states, "the workshop is also an excellent opportunity for people who have not faced foreclosure to learn ways to improve their financial situation."
