Online, August 11, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Sean Platt and David Wright released the groundbreaking first "episode" of the serialized eBook series Yesterday's Gone on Amazon Kindle this week.
Yesterday's Gone is a somewhat unique in its format, being released as low-priced 100 page eBooks every three weeks. Each episode ends with a cliffhanger, just like old fashioned serials, chap books, and one of the more popular recent examples, Stephen King's The Green Mile.
"I remember the feeling I got when I first read King's The Green Mile, waiting anxiously for the next book to come out," said co-author David Wright. "I love that feeling of bringing the reader along on an unforgettable journey. And when you take your time to tell the story in serialized format, you're taking the journey together."
Yesterday's Gone, in the tradition of post-apocalyptic books such as The Stand, Swan Song, and episodic TV series such as LOST, tells the story of what happens on October 15, 2011 at 2:15 a.m. when most of the world's population vanishes.
While Yesterday's Gone is action packed and has plenty of terrifying moments, it is, above all, a character driven series.
"Story means nothing if you don't care about the people inhabiting it," said co-author Sean Platt. "Think about the best books, TV shows, and movies you've seen. Now think about why you liked them. Nine times out of 10, it's because you loved (or loved to hate) the characters."
Here's the back-of-the-book copy.

These survivors aren't alone...
