Automated Systems Design (ASD) Installs Structured Cabling System and Security and Access Control System for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta
Online, August 20, 2012 (Newswire.com) - Automated Systems Design, Inc. (ASD®) installed a low voltage structured cabling system for the new Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta location in Midtown at the corner of Peachtree Street and 17th Street. The cabling system includes 251 iCAT-ITS Cat 5e Cables installed in 132 work area locations. In conjunction with New South Construction, ASD also installed a closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera system, IP video intercom system, access control system and turnkey intrusion alarm system.
The new Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta location, which is the historic former home of the Perkins+Will Inc. architectural firm, provides nearly double the amount of space of the organization's previous location at the 100 Edgewood Avenue Building. Big Brothers Big Sisters has more than 360 agencies in the United States. The Atlanta location is the largest Big Brothers Big Sisters program in the Southeast and one of the largest in the nation. The Atlanta location will also be the first Big Brothers Big Sisters facility with a building certified by Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED). The Big Brothers Big Sisters building hopes to earn a Silver LEED rating for the organization's efforts to save power, reduce water usage, recycle materials and promote environmentally friendly practices.
The CCTV camera system installed in the new Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta location features a VMAX H.264 embedded digital recorder, which provides the highest possible digital recording quality across multiple channels up to 60 frames per second at D1 resolution and up to 240 frames per second at CIF resolution. The system's V1363TIR cameras are vandal-resistant and provide a high-level of color sensitivity and high-resolution in both day and night applications. The CCTV system also includes a designated IP address, which provides web access to view footage remotely via a computer, mobile device or tablet.
The IP video intercom system is a network-based IP video door entry security management system. Similar to the CCTV system, the video intercom system also includes secure remote management and access over the Internet. The system is capable of recording both audio and color video.
The access control system manages entry to the facility through card readers and software. The turnkey intrusion alarm system features advanced remote management, including remote control over the Internet.
