Bob Eskew, CEO of ASD, founded the company in 1987, but it was not an easy decision. In 1987, Eskew had a secure position with General Motors (GM), and he had to decide if he was going to stay with GM or venture out on his own and officially launch ASD.

"I had to make a decision," recalls Eskew, "Stay with the cradle to grave security of GM or venture out on my own. It was one of the hardest decisions I ever made, but also one of the best decisions. When I left GM to start ASD, my mom cried and the rest of my family laughed. No one could understand why I would do such a crazy thing."

Now 25 years later, ASD is a leading service provider and manufacturer of information transport systems. In recent years ASD's sales have topped $20,000,000.
