Avalon School of Cosmetology (www.avalon.edu) is offering area residents a chance to create a new future for themselves in 2013. Anyone who has ever dreamed of a career that rewards creativity and a love of beauty is invited to see what their programs have to offer.

When a new year comes, people take it as an opportunity to evaluate their lives. They examine both their past and the type of future that is ahead of them. Some people who start out in typical office jobs find that the work does not fulfill their needs. According to Brandon Pobiak, "We often help people who started out on another path and then realized that they were unsatisfied by their lives. We help them take their passion for beauty and helping others to look their best and to turn it into a real career path."

The cosmetology school offers programs that are designed to account for the needs of individual students. Training is intended to be both flexible and customized, so that it is accessible to people who are looking to start a new career, as well as to professional cosmetologists who are looking for opportunities to increase their skills. Lessons are carried out in both a classroom and a salon setting, in an effort to ensure that everyone who completes the program is confident with both the theory behind beauty and the actual skills involved in giving clients the look that they want.

The school prides itself on being accessible in other ways, as well. Financial aid is available to those who qualify. They also offer payment plans to those who either do not qualify for these programs or do not wish to take advantage of them.

According to Pobiak, one thing in particular that sets this beauty college apart is its student instructor programs. "We give real industry professionals the chance to come into our classrooms and gain teaching experience. They receive the guidance and training that they need to become professional teachers, while our cosmetology students get the advantage of spending part of their time learning from people who know what it really takes to be successful in the field today."

He goes on to add, "This is an important time of the year, because a lot of people take a good look at their lives and realize that they would be happier if they were doing something they truly loved. We're here to help them make that a reality."
