Avamere Family of Companies Reviews First Year of Strategic Priorities

Focus on quality and people

Avamere Strategic Priorities

The Avamere Family of Companies (AFC) announced six strategic priorities in October 2018, entering a new era for the company.

Over the last year, the company has developed teams to lead these priorities and initiatives, set attainable goals, and have made impeccable progress in the last year.

The People Priority is one of the key focuses of the six priorities. The Avamere Family of Companies is investing in their people to ensure everyone feels valued, respected, and supported in their professional growth.

Here are a few of the accomplishments under the People Priority:

•         Welcomed a Chief People Officer, Dale Fruehauf, to lead the People Priority

•         Participated in and sponsored the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, raising over $23,000 across AFC

•         Conducted an employee satisfaction survey; over 90% of employees who took the survey reported they feel AFC cares about the patient experience

•         Introduced OnShift Engage, an engaging platform where employees can report about their day and earn rewards for completing everyday tasks

•         Initiated the People Charter, a team to develop Avamere’s goals under the People Priority

•         Launched Team 150, a leadership development program, in December

The Quality Priority team developed a Nurse Practice Council, including nurses across the company. This team of qualified nurses analyzes issues from the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement results and makes recommendations on how the company should approach these situations.

Under the Growth & Development Priority, the team developed an investment committee to guide AFC’s growth opportunities and a capital strategy group to capitalize on potential growth and development opportunities. They also released a new tool for measuring performance, Balanced Scorecards, being rolled out throughout the company.

As part of the Continuum of Care Priority, Avamere is expanding its services in certain existing markets.

The Reimbursement Priority team had a successful year as AFC and the entire healthcare industry welcomed the Patient-Driven Payment Model. AFC is embracing this transition by auditing current assessments to ensure therapists have the tools they need to achieve outstanding patient outcomes.

Under the Payer Priority, the team welcomed a Director of Payor Relations, Wade Bennett, and joined a quality post-acute care network, PACNet, to assist in negotiating within the post-acute network space.

These accomplishments are a select few of the tremendous achievements around AFC’s priorities. As the Avamere Family of Companies enters its 25th year of enhancing lives, the team continues their strong momentum in the strategic priorities.
