A team of 14 from Hammersmith-based Avanta Managed Offices raised more than £1,200 for children's medical research charity, Sparks, by taking part in the JP Morgan Corporate Challenge 2011 which took place in Battersea Park at the beginning of July.

This year, Managing Director David Alberto was the fastest finisher from the Avanta team with a time of 22m: 13s for the 5.6km race. "My main aim was to beat the amount we raised for Sparks at last year's event and I'm so pleased that we achieved this goal," he commented.

"As a serviced office provider it is essential that we give back to the local community. We have supported Sparks for a number of years and they, in turn, support some of the most important medical research undertaken today into childhood illnesses. So, we endeavour to literally go that extra mile to raise all the support and funds we can to ensure that the work of this exceedingly worthwhile charity continues.

"Every penny raised helps to make a vital difference to so many young lives through the pioneering research Sparks doctors and scientists are carrying out across the whole spectrum of paediatric medicine," adds Ikram Dahman, director of development at Sparks.
