Avenue Q Star to Teach Theatre Puppetry in NYC
Puppet School gets new teacher in Avenue Q star, Christian Anderson
Online, March 23, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Christian Anderson, who for nearly four years played Nicky and Trekkie Monster on Broadway, will be teaching a one-day intensive theatre puppetry class on April 3rd, 2011 at Simple Studios in New York City. Anderson also played the Q roles on tour. Four years of his life were spent perfecting the puppetry style he now teaches through Puppet School, a unique company founded by Emmy winning puppeteer, Michael Earl (formerly Mr. Snuffleupagus on Sesame Street) and business partner, Roberto Ferreira.
Christian Anderson recently moved back to LA after performing as 'Nicky/Trekkie' in Avenue Q on Broadway where he also played the role of 'Mark' in Rent and originated the role of 'Dick' in High Fidelity. He's done some National Tours too. He played the role of 'Jerry' in The Full Monty and the role of 'Roger' in the 1st National tour of Rent.
Christian has also had the pleasure of being killed off on Law and Order and Life On Mars and of shooting a puppet pilot for The Travel Channel called Puppet Planet. Having been interested in puppetry for as long as he can remember, Christian is thrilled and honored to be working with Puppet School and eager to share all that he has learned with his students.
Puppet School (puppetschool.com) is the brainchild of 4-time Emmy Award-winning puppeteer, Michael Earl, and filmmaker, Roberto Ferreira. Together they created a fun place where creativity and imagination meet. Mostly adult actors take class at Puppet School, but also Muppet and Avenue Q fans as well.
