Campo Verde High School plans Freedom Rock Experience student concert with C.T.S. band to help fund school music program and BRAKES Teen Driving School
Online, May 3, 2014 (Newswire.com) - The Campo Verde High School Orchestra will host a Freedom Rock Experience fundraising concert featuring the award-winning C.T.S. rock group on Saturday, May 3 at 7 p.m., at the Campo Verde Auditorium.
The school's music director, Laura Reed, will lead almost 100 orchestra students during the "Freedom Rock Experience" show, a one of a kind multi-media rock concert where music students perform original, award-winning compositions with the Phoenix-based C.T.S. rock band in a unique fundraising initiative for high school music programs.
The free BRAKES (Be Responsible Keep Everyone Safe) Pro Active Teen Driving School will be held May 3 - 4 at the Wildhorse Pass Motorspeedway in Chandler, pre-registration is required at www.putonthebrakes.com. BRAKES is a non-profit organization founded by Doug Herbert after losing two teenage sons in a car accident. Herbert, a former Top Fuel NHRA champion, and the BRAKES team will be honored at the Freedom Rock Experience concert on Saturday evening.
C.T.S. band founder and songwriter, Jeff Senour, wrote and recorded "You Won't Be Forgotten," named Song of the Year by the Military Writer's Guild for honoring US military veterans. Senour also penned "Quarter Mile," a fundraising song for the BRAKES Teen Driving School.
"Band members Joe McGinnity, Jerry Nuzum and Tony Lugo all live in the Phoenix area, so we are excited about performing in our hometown," said Senour. "Campo Verde has a wonderful music program, so we are honored to help them raise funding for their very talented student musicians," added Senour.
C.T.S. band members and performing students will be available for a post concert autograph session. The Campo Verde Auditorium is located at 3870 S Quartz Street in Gilbert, Ariz. Doors open at 6 p.m. and all proceeds benefit the Campo Verde High School music program. For concert details and ticket information, visit www.CTSmusic.com.
