Award Winning Jon Fischer Joins MGN Online as Managing Director of MGNdirect™

Cardiff by the Sea, CA, June 13, 2017 (Newswire.com) - Jon Fischer is the new Managing Director of MGNdirect™ announced today by Gill Davis, Founder, and CEO of MGN Online. “With his diversified professional history in the News Business, we are all very excited to have Jon join the Team at MGN.”  Jon has served in multiple positions over the past 25 years including, News Director, Executive Producer, News Consultant and Educator.  Most recently, Jon was owner of his own firm, Fischer Media Consulting, an Internet, Broadcast consulting firm.

Before Fischer Media, Jon brought his skills and expertise to several news departments around the country as News Director for WFTC-TV in Minneapolis, KTVX-TV in Salt Lake City, KMIR-TV in Palm Springs and XETV-TV in San Diego. He was also an Assistant News Director at KTLA successfully positioning the “KTLA Morning News” and “News at Ten” as #1 in Southern California.  Jon’s employment at KCOP, as Assistant News Director, he was placed in charge of the build out of the station's “new” News department.  He has received numerous commendations for coverage of live and breaking news stories, including several Emmys, Golden Mikes, UPI, AP and Los Angeles Press Club Awards. Jon was a Board Member of Radio Television News Association and NATAS-Upper Midwest Chapter.

Jon has taught Journalism at UCLA and been a guest speaker at USC, BYU, and the College of the Desert. As a second-generation broadcaster, Jon’s father George Fisher was a broadcast pioneer and has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
