Rick Shaw, President and CEO of Awareity, has been selected to present at this year's EduComm conference focused on higher education success, June 7-9 at the Mirage, Las Vegas.

The EduComm 2010 program brings together top thought leaders, innovators, and speakers to present, discuss, and navigate the unprecedented challenges and opportunities shaping the future of higher education.

Rick Shaw's presentation, "Connecting the Dots to Improve Campus Safety", will highlight lessons learned from other campuses, incidents, headlines and reports, revealing how failing to connect the dots can lead to expensive and embarrassing results. The Virginia Tech Review Panel report exposed many of the complexities of campus safety and security, and as was demonstrated recently at the University of Alabama, proactively identifying red flags and warning signs is critical.

Rick's presentation will share successes and real world examples from campuses that are working to more effectively implement lessons learned, improve emergency/crisis management plans, implement incident reporting and threat assessment team tools, and most importantly connect the dots at the individual-level.
