ICAI's Tree Plantation Abhiyan at Panchavati, Pashan Road.
Pune, India, July 14, 2015 (Newswire.com) - “Modernization should not happen at the cost of the environmental damage. Our future generations will have to face consequences of the ignorance towards environment; therefore it is necessary that we develop concern into actual care and create awareness while there is time.” stated Member of Parliament Anil Shirole on the occasion of the Tree Plantation Abhiyan.
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India in collaboration with Pune Municipal Corporation organized the Tree Plantation Abhiyan today. The tree plantation took place at Panchavati Garden on Pashan Road. On this occasion, M.P. Anil Shirole initiated this abhiyan. Shri Ashok Ghorpade (Garden Superintendent, Pune Municipal corporation), C.A. Shivaji Zaware (Central council member, ICAI), Shri Mohan Dhere (Tree Officer, Pune Municipal Corporation), Dr. C.A. K.D. Gargote, C.A. Vidya Gargote (Finance and Accounting authority, Savitribai Phule Pune University), Shri Guruswami Tumale (Supervisor), C.A. Yashwant Kasar (Chairman, Pune branch of WIRC of ICAI), C.A. Radheshyam Agarwal, Shri Ravi Kamble (Supervisor), C.A. Anand Jakhotia (Treasurer, Pune ICAI). C.A. Chandrashekhar Chitale, C.A. Suresh Unecha and other dignitaries were present on this occasion.
C.A. Shivaji Zaware spoke about the events scheduled for the month of July, “The ICAI declared the month of July as the ‘C.A. Month’ for the purpose of nation building and providing more visibility to the profession. The institute completed its 66 years of glorious existence on July, 1, 2015. The Western Indian Regional Council has organized various activities for this special month. Cycle Rally, ICAI Flag hosting, Blood donation and Free Health check-up camps, Tree plantation drive, sports and cultural activities and various other activities have been organized for this month.
Some additional programmes that the ICAI is organizing this year includes taking forward the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan by adopting few neighbourhood schools for cleanliness drive, organizing programmes for creating awareness about environment hazards, organizing tax awareness programmes/clinics for general public, donating literacy kits to underprivileged children in various schools/orphanage, and spreading awareness about initiatives undertaken by ICAI towards women empowerment.”
