Bacula Systems Unveils New Backup and Recovery Integrated Technology for Sybase (Adaptive Server Enterprise)
New Bacula module simplifies and speeds backup and restore operations for Sybase (Adaptive Server Enterprise)
WILMINGTON, Del., October 3, 2019 (Newswire.com) - Accelerating its leadership in high-performance backup and recovery for enterprises and managed services providers, Bacula Systems today announced the release of the latest version of its Sybase backup and recovery software. Adding to its already wide range of integrated database technologies, Bacula Systems continues to execute its strategy to deliver technologies that have a positive business impact for complicated and demanding enterprise IT environments.
Designed to make life easier for Sybase administrators, this module makes the backup and restore operations of Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise (ASE) faster and more convenient for users. The module is designed so that backup administrators do not need to learn about the internals of Sybase backup techniques or write complex scripts.
The main features of the Bacula Enterprise Sybase backup module are:
· Support for Full Database backup and restore, Cumulative Database (incremental) backup and restore as well as Database Transactions backup and restore;
· Database backup levels that are efficiently mapped to Bacula Enterprise backup levels;
· All backup or restore operations easily managed by the backup administrator;
· Ability to restore any database backup to an alternate location
· Direct support of PITR (Point In Time Recovery) with database transaction restoration.
The module is available on 32 and 64-bit Linux platforms supported by Sybase and supports Sybase ASE 12.5, 15.5, 15.7 and 16.0.
“IT organizations are always looking for ways to improve efficiency while minimizing ownership cost. This new, natively integrated module will allow Sybase users to have better RTOs - Recovery Time Objectives - and benefit from more efficient administration of their databases,” Bacula Systems CEO Frank Barker said.
Bacula Enterprise is a scalable, feature-rich and subscription-based solution featuring a modular design and built on an open-source foundation that allows organizations to custom fit for their IT infrastructure. Its unique licensing model allows users to backup and restore high data volumes at a significantly lower cost than legacy, proprietary offerings. Technology features like Snapshots, advanced deduplication, single file restores, single mailbox restores and data verification are all accessible in one platform that spans multiple environments including physical, virtual, container, hybrid and Cloud. Bacula’s Enterprise Sybase backup software also enables backups and restores using multiple stripes through a simple configuration setting.
“The launch of this new module reaffirms our commitment to become the most flexible single platform industry solution for data backup and recovery. Further significant technology announcements will be coming within the next few days,” said Aristide Caraccio, VP of Sales and Marketing, Bacula Systems.
