Balentine Partner Brittain Prigge named FT 100 US Women Financial Advisers by Financial Times

Brittain Prigge, CFA was named one of the FT 100 Women Financial Advisers by the Financial Times. Brittain, a founding partner and Head of Relationship Management, as one of only two advisers representing the state of Georgia.

Balentine is proud to announce that Brittain Prigge, CFA was named one of the FT Top 100 Women Financial Advisers by the Financial Times. Brittain was one of only two advisers representing the state of Georgia and the only Georgia adviser from an independent Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) firm. Brittain is a founding partner of Balentine, an independent, employee-owned investment advisory firm, and she currently serves as a member of the Executive Management team and Head of Relationship Management.  

The 2014 Financial Times Top 100 Women Financial Advisors is an independent listing produced by the Financial Times (November, 2014). The FT 100 is based on data gathered from firms, regulatory disclosures and the FT’s research. As identified by the FT, the listing reflected each advisor’s performance in six primary areas, including assets under management, asset growth, compliance record, years in existence, credentials and accessibility. “We sought to highlight the many [women] who have built large, successful practices. So this inaugural edition of the FT100 Women Financial Advisers provides a snapshot of the best across the US,” writes Loren Fox in the Financial Times special report of the “FT100 Women Financial Advisers.”

In addition to her many responsibilities as Head of Relationship Management and Executive Management Committee member, Brittain has been integral in framing the culture and helping Balentine female employees succeed. Brittain represents the Executive Management Committee on the firm’s Mission + Values Committee, a group responsible for ensuring that Balentine’s values are lived out in the culture, and she also holds an annual Women’s Forum, where women employees gather to discuss issues and challenges females face in the investment industry. 

Brittain began her career with Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner and Smith.
In 1994, she joined Balentine & Company where she became a partner in 2001. Brittain continued with Wilmington Trust after Balentine & Company’s acquisition in 2002. She managed Wilmington Trusts’ investment advisory practice in the southeastern United States.

Brittain is active in the community, focusing on organizations dedicated to helping underprivileged children. In 2013, Brittain joined the board of L.E.A.D, an organization that provides at-risk inner city youth males with a pathway to higher education and civic engagement through baseball. Brittain also founded the E. Rivers Education Foundation and currently serves as President. She is also a board member and chair of the Endowment Development committee for Families First, Georgia’s largest not-for-profit family service agency providing holistic services to children and families in jeopardy. Brittain is a member of the Peachtree Battle Alliance board serving as Secretary and E Rivers liaison. Brittan has been an active fundraiser for the Boys and Girls Clubs of America acting as a National Associate.

Brittain holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Vanderbilt University. She also holds the Chartered Financial Analysts (CFA) designation and is a member of CFA Institute and Atlanta Society of Security Analysts.
