Balentine's North Carolina Office Grows
Incoming CFA Society of North Carolina President, John Maddison, joins firm's Research Triangle Park Office.
Online, June 17, 2014 (Newswire.com) - Balentine is proud to announce that John Maddison, CFA has joined the firm as an Associate Relationship Manager. John will serve individuals, families and institutional clients from the firm's Research Triangle Park Office in North Carolina. Founded in December 2009, the rapidly growing firm opened its North Carolina office in 2011 and now has 25 employees and $1.9 billion in assets under advisement.
A North Carolina native, Maddison brings more than a decade of experience working in the investment industry, serving both institutional and private clients. This week, Maddison was also elected President of the CFA Society North Carolina, the 11th largest CFA Institute society in the United States and the 23rd globally with just under 1,000 members.

Before joining Balentine, Maddison worked with Royal Bank of Canada, most recently heading Operational Risk Management for RBC's U.S. retail bank. Maddison began his career in New York at Thomson Financial, advising corporate executives at publicly held companies on investor relations and capital markets best practices, and at Gerson Lehrman Group, providing institutional investors primary research capabilities. He previously worked for Franklin Street Partners in Chapel Hill.

Maddison graduated from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and also received a Masters of Business Administration from UNC's Kenan-Flagler Business School. He is also a graduate of Woodberry Forest School. In addition to his upcoming term as President of the CFA Society North Carolina, Maddison is also a member of the society's Strategic Advisory Board; previously, he served as Vice President and Programming Chair. An active member of the community, Maddison is President of Christ Episcopal Church Preschool's Board of Directors.
