The seven cricketers from Pakistan who were last week banned or fined by the PCB have been told they have 30 days to appeal.

The punishments were meted out in response to their performance and behaviour during their disastrous tour of Australia recently.

Former captains Mohammad Yousuf and Younus Khan were both banned indefinitely. Fast bowler Rana Naved-ul Hasan and another former captain, Shoaib Malik, were banned for one year.

Kamran Akmal, his brother Umar and Twenty20 captain Shahid Afridi copped heavy fines.

The head of the committee which investigated the errant players' behaviour, said that letters had been sent out to all seven players, outlining the reasons for their punishments and advising of the option to appeal under PCB constitution.

None of the players has spoken publicly about their punishment or indicated they will appeal.

Pakistan will soon have to defend the Twenty20 title they won in England last year, and are due to announce a captain next week
