When asked about this song, Barbie tells us, "I was challenged to write a song about the Gulf Oil Spill, so I started researching the disaster. My son suggested that we all need to rescue the animals, as they will affect our futures. RESCUE ME became a reality of words and music from the animals point of view." Barbie comments "My gift to the rescue and relief effort is the RESCUE ME video.
