Barlow Respiratory Hospital in Los Angeles, California, has a new CEO. Amit Mohan, FACHE, FACMPE, was identified through a nationwide search and is an experienced leader with eighteen years of clinical and leadership expertise in healthcare. The hospital was drawn to Mohan's track record as a dynamic healthcare executive.

Mohan most recently served as Executive Director for Shore Rehabilitation Institute in Brick, New Jersey. He functioned in a CEO capacity for the not-for-profit rehabilitation hospital established as a joint venture by two of the leading New Jersey health systems. Under Mohan’s leadership, achievements included expansion of access to care, addition of new programs, improved care quality and team member engagement. He is also credited with achieving solid financial performance. Previously, Mohan held various leadership positions across the post-acute continuum and in acute care hospitals.

Barlow Respiratory Hospital was drawn to Mohan’s track record as a dynamic healthcare executive with the vision and strategy to continue to grow the hospital and strengthen established relationships with physicians, staff and the community. His collaborative and transformational leadership style combined with his clinical experience and financial acumen, made him the perfect match for the hospital.
                                                                           

Mohan is currently a Doctoral candidate in Business Administration at North Central University. He earned a Master of Science in Healthcare Administration from Central Michigan University, and a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Delhi in India. Mohan has completed executive education programs including the coveted American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) Executive Program and multiple quality improvement programs. He is currently completing the Improvement Advisor program with the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) and holds the Green Belt in Lean Sigma from Armstrong Institute of patient safety at Johns Hopkins University. Mohan has achieved fellow status (FACHE) with ACHE and fellow status with the American College of Medical Practice Executives (FACMPE). He is a licensed Physical Therapist in California and is Board Certified in Geriatrics Physical Therapy.  He lives in Glendale with his family.

He succeeds Margaret Crane who retired in October, 2015 after serving as President and Chief Executive Officer of Barlow Group and its subsidiaries Barlow Respiratory Hospital, Barlow Respiratory Research Center, and Barlow Foundation since 1993.
