BaseN Now Global Service Provider For Telefónica

BaseN Corporation, the next generation real-time data management solution provider was selected as global service vendor for Telefónica, one of the largest telecommunications companies in the world.

Today, BaseN, the next generation real-time data management solution provider, announced its new expanded role as official global service vendor for Telefónica, one of the largest telecommunications companies in the world, as a continuation of a service that monitors the voice quality in IP networks provided since 2009.

The service is offered along a pay-per-use model, costs purely depending on the number of devices being measured. BaseN will monitor for Telefónica different measures (round-trip time, delay, jitter, packet loss and MOS - Mean Opinion Score) of VoIP call centers at several sites located in Europe, for customers in eHealth, Tourism and Industry sectors.

"New measurement targets, regardless of their geographical location, can be quickly added whenever the need arises, which is very beneficial for a company like Telefónica - operating internationally and with constantly changing and growing monitoring needs", says Pasi Hurri, President and CEO of BaseN. "We are looking forward to continue opening up new opportunities for Telefónica through the capabilities of BaseN's scalable production platform."

The provider selection was conditioned mainly by technical reasons. BaseN's modern, SaaS-business-model-based (Software as a Service), monitoring solution has proven to be the most convenient and cost effective tool for Telefónica over the past years. It has been deployed over the existing IP network without additional equipment or investments, with BaseN being responsible for all associated hardware and software.

"With the BaseN Platform we not only have a solution that provides immediate and accurate data but that is also flexible enough to adapt to the requirements of our customers and provide them what they really need. This is of high priority for Telefónica as a driver of technology innovation and customer satisfaction enhancement", says Jose Manuel De Arce Estopañán, Associate Director at Telefónica.
