Bates Creative Group Hires Three

DC Area Graphic Design Firm Expands Creative and Marketing Teams

Bates Creative Group, a national award-winning graphic design firm, today announced that it has hired three new employees to fill out its expanding roster of talent.

Public relations and marketing veteran Joe Feese has joined the firm's senior ranks as Director of Business Development; longtime interactive designer and user interface developer Vincent Tardy has joined the company as Senior Web Designer and Developer; and writer and social media specialist Emily Randisi has joined as Marketing Associate.

Feese's role will encompass all aspects of sales, relationship and editorial management across the firm's complementary magazine design, branding and Web design business lines; Tardy will help design and create highly functional websites for a variety of clients, focusing on accessibility, usability and SEO optimization; and Randisi will develop innovative social media and marketing strategies while providing client services.

"Bates Creative Group continues to grow its client list and strategic partnerships despite the current economic downturn," said Debra Bates-Schrott, president of Bates Creative Group. "Joe's keen sense of content strategy, Vince's extensive knowledge of the design process and Emily's insightful marketing tactics make these three the right people to help our firm move to the next level. I am delighted that Joe, Vince and Emily have all chosen to bring their considerable skills to the Bates Creative team."

Feese recently relocated to Washington, D.C., from Seattle, where he headed the public relations and marketing firm Heyday PR. At Heyday, he served clients ranging from Microsoft to the Washington Association of Naturopathic Physicians. Prior to starting Heyday, Feese was Chief Writer (and second hire) at Nyhus Communications in Seattle, where he helped build the firm into one of the fastest-growing companies in the nation. Before joining Nyhus, Feese was Science & Technology Producer for ABCNews.com and a founding member of Microsoft's first online arts, travel and entertainment guide. He is a graduate of Syracuse University.

Tardy previously served as Principal and Creative Director of design firm Glossybox, where his clients included the Department of Homeland Security, the Office of Naval Research and environmental law firm Beveridge & Diamond. Prior to founding Glossybox, Tardy held positions as a Multimedia Engineer at American Systems and Webmaster at The Centech Group. He also taught Visual Communications courses at Sanford Brown College, including Theory and Elements of Design, Art History, 2D/3D Animation and Advanced Web Design. Tardy is a graduate of James Madison University.

Randisi previously wrote for PR Tactics magazine, served as an on-site reporter and blogger for the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Counselors Academy Conference and was a featured guest on talk radio show "Key Coaching Associates." Randisi has a bachelor's degree in communications from the College of Charleston.
