Battling VoIP Price Performance: VoIPITS Announces DollarDID.com

The VoIP industry continues to prosper, though much of the financial gain remains in the hands of the provider. While cost efficiency is a major boon, many VoIP users pay for services they do not need. Customer support, for one, doesn't necessarily apply to those already familiar with the industry. DollarDID.com targets said individuals by dropping service costs in exchange for a self-serve model.

Cost efficiency is a major catalyst for growth in the VoIP industry. With sales rising steadily each year, the industry is poised to reach $74.5 billion in 2015. [1] The profit margin on this value compares to that of traditional telephony, only it grows wider as the technology develops and becomes more efficient.

Aaron Shames, CEO of the Toronto-based Corporation VoIPITS, comments on the price performance of VoIP: “It is incredible how the cost of providing VoIP services to end users has come down over the many years I have been involved in the Telecommunications industry.” Yet despite these cost reductions, savings rarely trickle down to the consumer.

Even with the constantly decreasing costs of telecommunications services like phone numbers, not many providers pass these savings on to the end user.

“Even with the constantly decreasing costs of telecommunications services like phone numbers, not many providers pass these savings on to the end user,” says Aaron. Instead, price reductions for customers often lead to poorer support and fewer resources. This is where DollarDID.com enters—VoIPITS’ newest venture.

DollarDID.com is predicated on the fact users who are capable of configuring and troubleshooting VoIP would do so themselves to save money. It targets a select group of users who do not need support beyond basic account inquires. Aaron explains, “We have found that the vast majority of issues requiring customer service are human error by the end user. With the right information readily available, we can reduce the level of customer support and make the plans more affordable.”

DollarDID.com leverages the company’s existing resources to build a DIY-type service. In effect, it maintains the quality of a managed provider but at a fraction of the price. Already a leader in VoIP and hosted PBX solutions, VoIPITS expands its market reach with this DollarDID.com. It launches officially at the end of the month.
