BAY AREA COMPANY'S LUNCHEON SERIES OFF TO A FAST START

Hewins' first luncheon seminar to aid the financial and personal transformation of Bay Area businesswomen produces a strong turnout and raises awareness for a local non-profit

SAN MATEO, Calif. - Hewins Financial Advisors, LLC (Hewins) hosted the first in a series of luncheons dedicated to empowering local businesswomen in their financial and personal lives last Friday. The Invest in Yourself Luncheon produced a turnout of more than (20) twenty Bay Area businesswomen, in a promising effort to educate and assist them on fiscal and personal strategies during and after the economic downturn. The luncheon also included an interesting discussion lead by savvy Personal Stylist and Wardrobe Consultant, Elena Daciuk, on how to banish closet anxiety by shopping in your closet and not spending a dime. The event was held in association with the Women's Achievement and Network Development Alliance (WANDA), a nonprofit for low-income single mothers, and participants.
The event featured Hewins' Colleen Jordan Hallinan as the keynote speaker, who unveiled key points to demystifying investment success. As a Principal and Senior Vice President with Hewins, Hallinan has been guiding clients towards intelligent investment decision-making since 1987. Participants were also given the opportunity to learn more about WANDA from Susan Kokores, co-founder of the local nonprofit. WANDA is a circle of women who pool their resources to invest in a strategy that will increase the economic self-sufficiency of low-income single mothers in San Mateo County through educational programs focusing on financial management, career advancement and life skills training.
"Whether you have hundreds of dollars to your name, or millions - all of us seek leverage in our lives. We want to find that magic combination of the greatest amount of improvement for a given level of effort. These luncheons are about providing the tools for successful women to transform different areas of their lives in much the same way that WANDA enables ambitious low-income single mothers to ascend to a new level of personal achievement," says Hallinan.

Hewins Financial Advisors is a wholly independent, fee-only wealth management and advisory firm dedicated to enhancing the financial health and success of families, institutions and retirement plans.
