-
What: Walk For Water
Where: Aveda Institute San Antonio at the Pearl Brewery
When: Sunday, April 10; 9am registration; 10am walk
Why: To raise funds and awareness for clean water across the globe
Each year, Aveda Earth Month is dedicated to raising funds for environmental issues around the world. Since 1999, the Aveda network has successfully raised more than 18 million dollars for more than 80 partners worldwide.
Every 21 seconds, a child dies from lack of clean water. Now, for the fifth year, Aveda focuses on protecting clean water around the world. Join us on Sunday, April 10, at 9am to Walk For Water at the Aveda Institute San Antonio and help protect clean water by raising funds for our Earth Month Partners, the Gulf Restoration Network and the Lower Mississippi Riverkeeper. Help Aveda reach the $4 million dollar goal to provide clean, safe water to developing communities around the world. We will walk 6 kilometers - the average distance a woman in a third - world country has to walk everyday to collect clean water - to raise awareness for clean water rights around the world.
Friends and family are welcome to walk with us. This is a child and pet friendly walk, too. Each human walking will need to sign a release form.
