Beating Cancer: Nova Cell Institute Method Turns the Immune System on Tumors
Online, April 28, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Nova Cells Institute of Mexico (NCIM) announced today it is accepting patient enrollments in an innovative new experimental cancer treatment program that makes use of tumor-fighting white blood cells called granulocytes donated by young people, umbilical cord blood derived stem cells and a special diet-supplement regimen. This largely immunologic approach to combating cancer was first used to in an advanced, end stage prostate cancer patient during March 2011 and produced a rapid turnaround with no appreciable side effects.
NCIM's method is informed, in part, by the published research of Wake Forest researcher Zheng Cui, MD, PhD. Back during 1999 Dr. Cui injected mice with an ultra aggressive form of cancer that should have killed all the treated animals. One didn't contract cancer. Curious as to why, Dr. Cui went about determining what was protecting the resistant mouse and found that the animal had white blood cells (granulocytes) that are quick to attack and dispatch cancer cells. More work followed that led Dr. Cui to propose that between 10-15% of people harbor granulocytes that make them resist developing cancer. He also proposed that these cancer-resistant granulocytes could be harvested from donors and given to cancer patients. This idea gathered momentum resulting in a clinical study proposal that as approved by the FDA. However, the Wake Forest study ultimately was withdrawn. More recently the South Florida Bone Marrow/Stem Cell Transplant Institute has received FDA approval to conduct a similar study (but is "enrolling participants by invitation only.")

With Dr. Cui's pioneering work in mind NCIM's consulting biomedical theoretician Dr. Anthony G. Payne set to work to develop an experimental protocol that would artfully exploit use of mismatched donor granulocytes from healthy young people. What Dr. Payne proposed is the use of these donor granulocytes over a set time period followed by an infusion of HLA mismatched umbilical cord stem cells from healthy newborns. Dr. Payne suggested mismatched cord blood derived stem cells based on the fact he had seen this work for prostate and other forms of cancer treated in Mexico on many occasions since 2003. Cord blood stem cells apparently home in on specific biochemical compounds tumors secrete, engraft and then attract immune system players that then attack tumor cells.
In addition to the protocols for treating cancer with donor granulocytes & umbilical cord stem cells, Dr. Payne provided NCIM's medical team with a diet and supplement program rich in cancer-killing and immune system activating compounds.
Long story short: A middle-aged male with end stage prostate cancer was treated with mismatched donor granulocytes & then umbilical cord stem cells (March 2011) and then put on Dr. Payne's special diet & supplement program. His response was nothing short of a total turnaround. The cancer sufferer, who was wasting away due to cancer-spawned cachexia, was as white as a sheet of computer paper and unable to walk more than a few steps at-a-time before becoming exhausted had his color, appetite and energy return in short order. He is now walking one mile daily and has asked his NCIM doctors to let him return to his work as a business owner. Preliminary medical tests indicate that the patient is in full remission.
NCIM doctors readily admit this is but one case and as such it would be inappropriate to generalize what is being seen to other cancer patients. Nonetheless it is deemed a very significant advance in the treatment of cancer by NCIM and has led them to open up their program to other cancer patients especially those who have exhausted mainstream treatments and are considered end stage and "hopeless."
