Beckatt Solutions to Showcase 3D Printing Technology at the Phi Beta 3D Printing Expo on Tuesday, 12/1
Beckatt Solutions, a leading Midwest provider of 3D printing technology and services, will showcase 3D printing technology at the Phi Beta 3D Printing Expo at College of DuPage on Tuesday, December 1st, from 12:00-3:00 pm.
Elgin, Illinois, November 30, 2015 (Newswire.com) - Beckatt Solutions will represent Mcor Technologies and their line of paper-based 3D printers, including the Matrix 300+ and the Iris, the only 3D printer to meet the International Color Consortium’s standard for HD color accuracy. Founders of Beckatt Solutions and Managing Partners, Matt Pray and Michael Storey will be present to showcase the technology, give demonstrations and sample parts. Beckatt Solutions will also represent MakerBot and their line of commercially-available 3D printers, as well as MarkForged and the Mark One Composite 3D Printer, which uses continuous fiber reinforcement inside nylon parts to provide extremely durable and light-weight 3D prints. Prints from Mcor, MakerBot and MarkForged will be on display for attendees to examine, and live demonstrations of the MakerBot Replicator Desktop 3D Printer will be available.
Beckatt Solutions will demonstrate the 3D printing capabilities of the Mcor Iris, the only paper-based full-color 3D printer available, and will display a variety of models printed on the Mcor 3D printers. “We are excited about exhibiting and representing the Mcor, MakerBot and MarkForged brands at this upcoming 3D Printing Expo” said Matt. He added “this expo gives us the opportunity to showcase the unique capabilities additive manufacturing, and educate a wide audience about the competitive advantages of adopting 3D printing technologies”. Additive manufacturing, commonly known as 3D printing, is a process for making a physical object from a three-dimensional digital model, typically by laying down many successive thin layers of a material.
This expo gives us the opportunity to showcase the unique capabilities additive manufacturing, and educate a wide audience about the competitive advantages of adopting 3D printing technologies.

The Phi Beta 3D Printing Expo takes place in the Atrium of the SSC Building at College of DuPage, 425 Fawell Boulevard, Glen Ellyn, IL. In addition to representatives from local companies, libraries and the college demonstrating 3D printing, there will be speakers presenting on 3D printing and multiple 3D printing products in action. Michael Storey will speak on the lead up to the current state of additive manufacturing, and the future of 3D printing. The expo is hosted by the Phi Beta Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa at College of DuPage, and represents their yearly Honors in Action Program. MakerBot, with one of the largest installed bases and market shares of the desktop 3D printing industry, is setting the standards in reliable and affordable desktop 3D printing. MakerBot sells desktop 3D printers to innovative and industry-leading customers worldwide, including engineers, architects, designers, educators and consumers. MakerBot is leading the way in helping educators of all levels integrate 3D printing in to their curricula. From starter projects to professional development, MakerBot provides resources to make 3D printing more accessible for educators and students.
MarkForged’s innovative new material and printing process allows designers and engineers to 3D print real composite parts that are up to five times stronger and 20 times stiffer than traditionally 3D printed parts made from ABS plastic. The composite industry is particularly excited by the Mark One’s ability to selectively place continuous fiber reinforcement inside nylon parts, allowing engineers to control material cost and avoid the trimming, mold-making and curing required in traditional composite part lay-up.
