Riveting Memoir Paints the Perfect Picture of a Woman of Substance
Jennifer McKelvey pulls the reader in a tale of fleetingly beautiful moments- the nuances and subtleties of each life fragment woven into a fine tapestry.

BALTIMORE, MD - (Release Date TBD) - My mother told me my father held me as a newborn a couple of times, and then...he never came back. So begins Becoming a Woman of Substance, a remarkable memoir relating a complete picture of author Jennifer McKelvey's life.

McKelvey pulls the reader in to a triumphant tale of an ugly duckling from a small town blossoming into a beautiful swan trying to survive in the big city in Becoming a Woman of Substance. Most times, she swims but occasionally she sinks. Either way, she was able to cross the vast lake of struggles and challenges, and emerge victorious in the end. Each chapter in this moving memoir details the sojourn of McKelvey into the woman of substance that she is today. The author wrote in the book's introduction,

"I would be lying if I said that I have succeeded completely in becoming a woman of substance. Like everyone, I am a work in progress. I don't know if I will ever emerge as a complete woman of substance, but I do know that it is a goal well worth the effort. Even if I do not hit every one of my ten qualities (listed in the book's first page) all the time, I will continue striving to become a woman of substance because in doing so, I know that I cut a path of peace, joy, and kindness in the world; and it will be, in however small a way, a better place."

Like a riveting and finely-written novel, Becoming a Woman of Substance is a storehouse of McKelvey's fleetingly beautiful moments- the nuances and subtleties of each life fragment woven into a fine tapestry, that of a woman of substance.
