Belovodye Pictures, (a New York registered company with offices in Geneva, NY and Barnaul, Altai Krai), is pleased to announce important pre-production developments on the motion-picture project, Veronika, A Siberian Tale, written by New York screenwriter, Rob Travalino and based upon a novel by Sandy Krolick, the American author living in Altai Krai.

In March of this year, legendary Moscow-based Russian screenwriter, Alexandr Borodyansky, agreed to be attached as Associate Creative Producer on the film.  On the heels of this announcement, Belovodye Pictures entered into sponsorship discussions with senior management of “Belokurikha-2,” the newest tourist destination resort community currently under construction in the Altai Mountains.  Belokurikha-2 already has significant Russian Federation financing, as well as private investments from diverse international players, including world-renowned hospitality chain, Hilton Hotels.  Belokurikha Resorts has now formally announced its sponsorship support for the film, including the provision of in-kind services for the film cast and crew when shooting begins in the territory of Belokurika-2 in Altai Krai.

"This project will make it possible for movie-goers to see once again the tourist potential of Altai, as well as to learn of the unique diversity of natural sights, historical and cultural monuments, and other tourist attractions in our region."

Yuri Zakharov, Chief Administrator, Altai Department of Tourism

Furthermore, Krolick followed up this first success in discussions with Yuri Zakharov, Chief Administrator at the Altai Regional Office for Recreational Tourism and Resort Complexes.  Belovodye Pictures’ movie, Veronika, now has the endorsement and support of this important regional office as well.  As Mr. Zakharov said in his commitment letter to Mr. Krolick

This project will make it possible for movie-goers to see once again the tourist potential of Altai, as well as to learn of the unique diversity of natural sights, historical and cultural monuments, and other tourist attractions in our region.

Krolick, Executive Producer for Belovodye Pictures, plans to be in Moscow, New York, and Los Angeles this summer for meetings with prospective producers, directors, cast members, investors and other partners on the project.
