Ben Adams Architects Choose Workspace To Support Their Growth

Ben Adams Architects is a London based practice, working on a wide range of commercial, residential and arts sector projects.

In existence since 2003 the business has recently expanded to 18 employees and as a result has an increased requirement for more efficient and collaborative ways of working.

Like many practices, Ben Adams Architects has project related information stored in various places, across a number of different systems. The two key problems this presents are poor visibility of documents going in and out of the office and controlling resource allocation effectively. Ben Adams, Director explains "our current set up is quite disparate and this makes managing our project documentation difficult. Projecting and budgeting resource allocation is also a very time consuming process but essential to measuring and ensuring profitability at a project level."

In the past the business has implemented various information management solutions in order to address these issues, but has never been fully satisfied. "Either they didn't do exactly what we wanted once we started using them, or they were too difficult to use effectively" says Mr Adams. "We decided to cast the net a little wider and came across Workspace."

Workspace is the leading knowledge management software in the construction supply chain, storing project information in one central repository against the relevant projects, organisations and contacts. The modular makeup of the system allows businesses to bolt on additional functionality aligned to their specific business needs. Ben Adams saw this as an opportunity to address the business's document management requirements, as well as improving their financial reporting at a project level, by bolting on the Project Accounting function.

"Workspace seems very intelligently put together and it should address all our needs in one integrated system. It looks intuitive to use and staff will see the benefits of using it. I've spoken to other Workspace users who have all given great feedback on working with the technology." Mr Adam explains.

Ben Adams Architects will begin implementation in the New Year and look forward to efficient document management and effective resource control in 2012.
