Ben Gillies - Musical Superstar At Age 15, Then What?

Online, June 5, 2010 (Newswire.com) - They have won more Australian Recording Industry Association Awards than any other artist. They have enjoyed more #1 albums than any other band in Australian music history. They have sold more than six million albums world wide.

The band is Silverchair. Their drummer Ben Gillies will join co-hosts Lindy Burns and Bill Nelson on the June 7th edition of "Success In Action" as they discuss How Fast Are You Growing a question that is associated with knowing wether your rate of improvement and growth, is less than, equal to, or more than that of the environment you operate in?

Born in the Newcastle suburb of Merewether, New South Wales, Australia, Ben started his musical career as a quad drummer in the world renowned marching band The Marching Koalas. At age 12 Ben, along with friends Daniel Johns and Chris Joannou formed the rock band "Innocent Criminals"

By October 1994, under the new name of Silverchair, their first single "Tomorrow" (From the EP of the same name ) reached #1 on the Australian singles charts (6 weeks consecutively), and held a position in the top 10 for a further 20 weeks. For the year 1995, the single, "Tomorrow" was the most played song on U.S. modern rock radio.

Ben (along with his two mates) had achieved this success and a whole lot more by the ripe old age of 15.

From the early days of instant success and stardom Silverchair have gone on to become one of the most acclaimed and successful Australian bands of all time.

Currently working on the bands 6th studio album Ben has decided to take time out from his uncompromising recording schedule to make a special guest appearance on the June 7th edition of "Success in Action". This will be an episode not to be missed.
