Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Nevada Properties Gives 49,000 Bottles of Water to Las Vegas Rescue Mission

This is the third year the real estate firm has donated water during the hottest summer months to the Las Vegas Rescue Mission

Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Nevada Properties donated 49,000 bottles of water to the Las Vegas Rescue Mission this week. This is the third year the real estate firm has collected water donations from its largest Southern Nevada offices. The water is given to Las Vegas’ homeless population during the hot summer months.

“We volunteer at the Mission several times a year, so we know that the number of people who are coming in the summer months to get cool and stay hydrated is higher,” said Diane Ray, who organizes the annual event on behalf of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Nevada Properties. “It is so important in the summer time to make sure our homeless individuals and families have enough water to stay healthy. Our extreme heat during the summer months makes this water so important for them.”

The company of 1,200 local real estate professionals is a regular participant with the Las Vegas Rescue Mission and volunteers regularly to feed the Mission’s clients. The firm also donates toiletries and blankets every winter to the Mission. “We will start this year’s drive in November, and offer our offices as drop-off locations for anyone who wants to donate gently used blankets or toiletries to the Mission,” said Ray. “We collect socks, deodorant, shampoo, razors and other toiletries they need on a regular basis. It is a great way to help those less fortunate in our community.”

Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Nevada Properties’ Southwest Las Vegas office donated 18,761 alone during this year’s water drive. “We make it a friendly competition between our largest offices and this year our Southwest Las Vegas office really made an effort to support the Mission,” said Ray. “Our Sahara office donated 15,404 bottles. This is so impressive given that every person in these office gave an average of 70+ bottles to support our community.”
