Best Friend Books Supports Local and National Charities
Best Friend Books, a children's book retailer, has recently begun developing the online side of its business. As part of this development, it is running two regular fundraising programmes for local charities - The Main Event and the Mini-Fundraiser.
Online, May 30, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Best Friend Books is an Independent Sales Representative of Barefoot Books, an award winning children's publishers based in the UK and in the United States, operating in the Trafford area of Greater Manchester. The retailer has been operating for almost a year, trading mainly at local events such as school fairs and charity fetes. In April it began developing the online side of its business, at the same time launching two regular charity events.
Working with the community, supporting local organisations and charities, is an important part of the Barefoot philosophy and as one of their Independent Sales Representative, or Ambassadors, Best Friend Books is also keen to develop this idea. With this in mind, the retailer has introduced The Main Event and The Mini-Fundraiser, two concurrently running events that aim to support charities and community groups both locally and nationally. A Main Event will normally run for between a month and six weeks, being promoted as widely and extensively as possible. A Mini-Fundraiser will operate on a much smaller scale, lasting for just a fortnight. The first Main Event was held in April, in support of Finn's Fund, and was launched with a mass leaflet drop around Sale. The current campaign, entitled Books 4 Schools is aiming to raise funds in order to provide free books for schools within Trafford.
The Barefoot range includes a variety of products, with a mixture of well-known traditional tales and new, original stories. Their bestsellers include The Animal Boogie, a sing-a-long book and CD that introduces an array of dancing animals, and the Barefoot Book of Knights. This is a traditional collection of tales emphasising, among other things, the importance of bravery and the recognition of weakness. With an extensive range of around three hundred books, CDs, puppets, costumes and puzzles there is something for everyone from birth up to twelve years.
The Best Friend Books website contains up to date information on the current Main Event and Mini-Fundraiser, as well as links to the Barefoot Books site. From here visitors can find out more about the company and sign up as an Ambassador themselves, or browse the online store and place an order. All purchases made through the Best Friend Books website will automatically be credited towards the current Main Event, although this can be overridden for an alternative fundraiser by entering the relevant event code during checkout.
