Best May Sales Performance Sets Record for Ford Fusion This Year

Online, June 9, 2012 (Newswire.com) - Ford Motor Company just announced that their Ford Fusion set the May Fusion sales record this year by selling 26,857 vehicles. This is a 9% increase in sales compared to May 2011. Fusion also posted its strongest-ever retail sales month this May.

These LCD screens on either side of the centered speedometer indicate the car's current fuel economy, fuel economy history, odometer and engine coolant temperature. In order to make the driver's ride as green as possible, EcoGuide also indicates trip data including trip fuel economy, time-elapsed fuel economy and miles until empty.

Power for the fusion Hybrid comes from the combined energy of the electric motor powered by an innovative Nickel-Metal-Hydride (NiMH) battery and a 2.5L Atkinson-cycle I-4 gas engine. Electric alone can power the Fusion up to 47 miles per hour without using fuel.

In situations such as passing and merging, when extra power is
needed, the I-4 gas engine kicks in. This engine is also the main source of power when traveling more than 47 mph. Combined, the battery and engine generate 156 horsepower and 136 lb-ft of torque.
