With the significance of project management in view, secretariat officials of Uttrakhand on Thursday were introduced to the concepts of project management. The workshop organized by the Training Directorate of PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Uttrakhand was inaugurated by Mr. Subhash Kumar. Mr. Upendra Giri as chief speaker shared his insights on how project management can be adopted to manage government projects. He said that need for constant improvements is observed. This is possible by project management and is now getting accepted world over. In recent times, China has realized its significance and established nearly 200 project management colleges and institutes. Awareness is expected to increase in India also.

The workshop was aimed at helping government officials change their mindsets and take every activity as a project. Over 40 top government officials participated in the workshop including Secretary, Joint secretary, and Vice-secretary of the state. The participants were privileged to attain invaluable knowledge of the concepts and recent practices in the field of project management. This was a great step towards establishing professional project management practices for the government bodies in the country.
