When asked why she decided to pursue a career in real estate, Ms. Rasmussen recalled working with a large developer in the early 1970s:

"I worked with the marketing director for a well-respected builder for several years. We were responsible for the marketing and advertising, and eight sales offices at any one time. Later, as Vice President of Administration and Human Resources with a Government contractor, my responsibilities included assisting new employees with finding homes in the area and establishing new offices in other regions. Eventually, I became interested in real estate sales and decided to try my hand at it as a REALTOR®.”

As a thought-leader in her field, Ms. Rasmussen keeps her finger on the pulse of prevailing trends in her local market. In particular, she notes that being near several military installations, much of her clientele is composed of military personnel and their family members being transferred in and out of the area.
