Beyond Tattoo And Piercing: The New Trend Of Body Suspension

The project, born in 2009, aimed to document the not so well known rituals of body suspension, an ancient rite of passage of the Native Americans, recently resurfaced as a multifaceted practice. Through various trips around Europe, specifically in Norway, Croatia, Serbia and Italy from 2009 to 2012, the book shows the growing suspension community that is taking this ritual back to life. The pictures have already been featured in the exhibition The Body Canvas managed by the Royal Anthropological Institute, the most prestigious academic institution in the field of anthropology, and on Vice Italy, one of the most popular Italian pop culture websites.
