BIMTECH Has Been A Life-Changing Experience

Online, April 1, 2012 (Newswire.com) - Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH) completely changed his life for the better says Nipun Puri, the gold medallist for the PGDM (IB) class of 2010-12.

Puri said while academically, he learned models, theories and ways to solve industrial problems, his educational experience at BIMTECH provided much more.

Born in Ghazipur (U.P), he came to Delhi as a child when his father was transferred in the metropolis and finished his schooling at Kendriya Vidyalaya Vigyan Vihar, New Delhi. He then went to Kanpur to study engineering in computer science and landed a job at a software firm in Delhi.

Wanting to further his career in management, he left the job after three months, did a crash course for CAT and got selected for BIMTECH as well as ICFAI Hyderabad.

BIMTECH won out, he said "as I found BIMTECH has nurtured better managers in past and provides a very good learning environment."

Graduating this year, he accepted a supply chain position with HCL Technologies (Infrastructure Service Division) and feels confident about his success.

"I think I'm well prepared to take the job and the challenges," said Puri, "as the subject knowledge given to me by BIMTECH and its faculty has been commendable and I also worked hard on my respective domain knowledge."

He believes programs such as those taught at BIMTECH are a definite plus when planning a management career.

"Courses like this bring forth an overall change in an individual from his personality to his knowledge, to his way of looking at life," he said. "In today's competitive world it is very important to have something which makes you stand out and courses like this enable you to do so."

Puri believes if you don't have a goal you will not survive - and he definitely has goals.

Looking five years down the road in his position at HCL he's aiming for series of promotions.

"Huge opportunities are waiting for me and for the coming generation also," he said. "The only thing you need to do is to be the one who can fulfill the requirements in a better way."
