BioStorage Technologies Sponsors Healthcare Businesswoman's Association Event, Donates to Michael J.

BioStorage Technologies is the proud sponsor of a recent Healthcare Businesswomen's Association (HBA) Boston Chapter's Dine Around Event, and makes generous donation to Michael J. Fox Foundation.

BioStorage Technologies, a global leader in scientific asset management, biomaterial storage and cold chain logistics, is proud to announce the company's sponsorship of the recent Healthcare Businesswomen's Association (HBA) Boston Chapter's Dine Around Series event. The event took place on August 23, 2011 and featured a presentation by Debi Brooks, Co-Founder and Executive Vice Chairman of The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research (MJFF). As part of its sponsorship, BioStorage Technologies also made a generous donation to MJFF.

HBA Boston Chapter's mission is to provide women in the healthcare industry with the knowledge and tools to further enhance both their professional and personal goals. The chapter's Dine Around Series provides a small-format venue for networking and a chance to hear from successful business leaders.

Brooks' presentation pulled from her experience with MJFF and offered advice on how to transition to the non-profit sector. "When you are looking to make the transition to the non-profit sector, there are innumerable wonderful causes out there," said Debi Brooks. "Focus on finding the right environment and fit for you, where you can be the most effective and make the biggest impact."

The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research (MJFF) was founded in 2000 and is dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson's disease through an aggressively funded research agenda to further the development of improved therapies for those living with Parkinson's today. One of the Foundation's flagship projects, the Parkinson's Progression Markers Initiative (PPMI), is a landmark five-year clinical study aiming to identify biomarkers that reveal the progression of Parkinson's disease - critical to developing long-awaited disease-modifying treatments that will transform patients' lives.

"At BioStorage Technologies, we are committed to utilizing our strengths and talents to advance scientific research and we are proud to be affiliated with the Michael J. Fox Foundation as they work to find new cures and treatments for such a devastating disease," said Lori Ball, Chief Operating Officer, BioStorage Technologies.

Founded in 2000, the Michael J. Fox Foundation is dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson's disease and improved therapies for those living with Parkinson's today. For more information, visit www.michaeljfox.org.
