Birmingham Water Works Board (BWWB) Awards SAP Implementation Contract to ea consulting
Online, March 17, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Folsom, California - ea consulting, Inc. (ea), a leading IT solutions and services provider in the Utilities Industry announced today it has signed a 24-month contract with Birmingham Water Works Board (BWWB) to implement and host SAP's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) systems. Under the contract, ea will implement the new systems to help BWWB streamline and automate their business operations and improve their processes.
BWWB chose to implement this new system at this time for several reasons. Most importantly, they wanted to take advantage of the new system architecture and functionality and establish a foundation to build many of the technological enhancements they have slated for the future. "The new implementation is important because it helps to streamline our applications environment. We expect to achieve significant service level and operational improvements, as well as significantly reduce operational costs while allowing us to focus on our core business. This will result in a better experience for our customers and a healthy Return-on-Investment", said Michael Johnson, BWWB Chief Financial Officer.
"This contract represents a significant commitment in our relationship with ea and SAP. We chose ea based on the company's best practices, functional and industry capabilities, and a great capacity for innovation drawn from its vast experience with other utilities", said Tilden Leigh, Manager of Information Technology at BWWB. "By partnering with ea, we expect to accelerate processes and technology improvement by leveraging the expertise ea brings to us."
ea's proven track record and expertise in utilities industry coupled with its partnership with Vignon, a certified minority vendor with excellent SAP and utility experience, and its unique delivery model backed by CMMI® quality and maturity standards, as well as its strong knowledge and experience of the challenges facing the utilities sector, all played a key role in BWWB's decision to select ea as its new partner in the SAP ERP 6.0 and EAM Implementation.
"We are extremely appreciative and proud to be trusted by BWWB for this important project. It's a great opportunity to build a strong partnership with BWWB. Working collaboratively with Vignon, we look forward in helping BWWB to lower their operational costs and providing more flexibility in the management of its IT systems." said Tom Bettes, Vice President of Business Development for ea.
