Biscom Delivery Server Launches Secure File Transfer Solution in the Cloud

On-demand secure file transfer solution reduces capital expenditures and provides maximum security and reliably of critical, high-volume document communications

Chelmsford, MA - November 18, 2009 - Biscom, the leader in enterprise document communications, is announcing the immediate availability of Biscom Delivery Sever (BDS) in the Cloud (www.biscomdeliveryserver.com). The on-demand offering provides customers with the same superior features and functionality of its enterprise secure file transfer application now in a monthly subscription model. BDS utilizes Amazon Web Services Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) to provide a highly reliable computing infrastructure that boasts 99.95% uptime. With no capital expenditures for a physical server, no need to find data center rack space, and low operating costs, startup expenses and deployment times are substantially reduced.

"We're seeing more companies embrace cloud computing as a way to increase computing resources without burdening already strained IT departments," states Bill Ho, VP Internet Products. "The flexibility and ease in extending network and computing power without a significant upfront investment is important for companies looking to trim costs but are unwilling to sacrifice functionality and performance."

BDS customers have full control over the Cloud application by having the ability to choose storage, CPU, and memory footprint to meet performance requirements. Administrators have full access to the server operating system and can treat the virtual OS as if it were in their own network. Customers can choose their own URL, and customize the BDS application's look and feel to match their existing Web presence for a more seamless user experience.

Because BDS is an on-demand services-based application, users can leverage the Web interface as well as the Outlook add-in as if the BDS application were located on site, but without the maintenance and upfront costs that come with on-premise applications. All communications between the client and Amazon server is secure and encrypted at all times, and all files are encrypted while stored.
