BITSAT Conducted Successfully for the Eighth Consecutive Year in India

BITS Pilani (Birla Institute of Technology and Science), one of the premier Indian institutes for higher education, has successfully conducted the online entrance examination, BITSAT 2012 for the eighth consecutive year.

BITS Pilani (Birla Institute of Technology and Science), one of the premier Indian institutes for higher education, has successfully conducted the online entrance examination, BITSAT 2012 for the eighth consecutive year. Organized and conducted across 32 centers in India, BITSAT is an annual online examination conducted by BITS Pilani for admissions to its integrated first degree programs of all campuses in India.

With more than one lakh thirty six thousand applicants to the examination this year, BITSAT was conducted in 30 cities across the country and Dubai and was spread over three weeks during May-June 2012.

"Conducting BITSAT successfully for the eighth consecutive year without a glitch is certainly a great accomplishment for BITS Pilani. With the number of applicants increasing significantly from last year, the collaborative efforts of all the BITS faculty across campuses deserve a special mention." said Prof. S. Mohan, Associate Dean Admissions, BITS Pilani. "Through these eight years, the technical expertise within BITS and its close collaboration with Eduquity Career Technologies (partnering with BITS to conduct these online tests) has ensured smooth completion of such a large scaled online test for admissions" .

The admissions to BITS with BITSAT 2012 scores will commence in the first week of July. Each student who has appeared for BITSAT has to separately apply for admission before 30th June 2012 indicating his/her preferences for the different degrees offered at Pilani, Goa or Hyderabad campuses. More details are available at the website, www.bitsadmission.com. The entire admission process will be concluded by the first week of August for all the three BITS campuses.

BITSAT online test was introduced in the year 2005 which saw about 45000 candidates attempting the test. There has been steady increase in the number of applicants since then and this year, it has crossed one lakh thirty six thousand.
