"Bliss Consultant" Hosts Global Summit On Happiness
Online, July 23, 2012 (Newswire.com) - A California start-up company is hosting a global telesummit to address the topic of personal happiness. The Britelife Summit on Happiness is a free event that will be broadcast over the internet July 16-27. Ten experts in the field of personal development will discuss various ways to help people achieve greater happiness and fulfillment.
The summit is the brainchild of Andrea DeBell, who describes herself as a "bliss consultant" committed to happiness. DeBell, a meditation teacher, yoga instructor, and Journey Practitioner, noticed that many people she worked with were looking for practical ways to lead happier and more passionate lives. She created the summit to feature multiple approaches to happiness so that everyone attending could discover at least one strategy useful to their own situation.
Studies have shown that most people search for happiness through jobs, fame, fortune, appearance, or relationships. However, researchers have found that these types of strategies rarely lead to long-term happiness. In DeBell's experience, the only way to sustain happiness for the long-term is to shift one's thinking and to look more from within. The panel of experts will present practical ways to help do this.
According to DeBell, "the goal of the summit is to help raise the happiness of as many people as possible - and by doing this to raise the happiness of the planet."
The summit is a free event that will run Monday-Friday for two weeks and will feature one speaker each day. People will be able to listen to the speaker sessions over the internet or by phone. Recordings of each day's event will be available for those that cannot listen live.
