Blu Ray Manufacturing Now Available in UK
VDC Group is the FIRST UK Company to install Blu-ray mastering and replication Manufacturing Equipment. We are one of the largest independent optical disc manufacturers in the UK.
Online, October 29, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Executives at VDC Group are celebrating this week after securing the title of the first professional DVD replication company in the UK to offer expert Blu-ray manufacturing.
The group, who have been in existence for three decades, also provides CD replication and is the largest independent manufacturer in its field.
The London-based company has always prided itself on being at the forefront of technology and senior staff claim this latest innovation underlines their forward-thinking ethos.
New Business Development Manager at VDC Group, Mike Redfern said: "As a company we are committed to understanding both the changing business needs and developments of our clients.
"Hollywood Studios are increasing the production of 3D movies, broadcasters are preparing to launch 3D channels, and the consumer electronics industry is readying a whole range of 3D TVs and Blu-ray players.
"We are supporting these developments by investing in the mastering and replication equipment for Blu-ray and 3D Blu-ray Discs. The Blu-ray format has established itself as the new standard in the market. It's about giving the home consumer high definition quality."
In addition to quality, the Blu-ray format offers a higher storage capacity - providing the space for trailers and interviews with film celebrities and behind-the-scenes teams. It is also believed the Blu-ray Disc will initially prove the only means of delivering Full HD (1080p) 3D content to the home consumer.
Industry experts agree that the new Blu-ray technology is the best format for large-scale replication. However both CD duplication and DVD duplication works well for quantities of less than 500 units.
Technology used in DVD replication results in storage capacity which is 14 times greater than that provided by CD-ROMS. Data can be stored on both sides and a dual-layer feature is also available to increase information on the disc.
In addition, the format can allow users to create their own menus, sub-titles and even include audio tracks of their own choosing. DVDs are superior in quality when it comes to recording visual media such as film and video.
In terms of CD copying, replication rather than duplication techniques are employed. This is because the process is not only faster, but also results in a more enhanced and consistent quality overall. This is important considering a standard disc can result in up to 80 minutes playing time.
Mike and his team of technical experts and dedicated account managers, also offer a one-stop service with litho or silk screen printing, packaging options (including an individual hand-packaging service), distribution and even storage in their 70,000 square foot warehouse.
The company's key to success, in addition to keeping up-to-date with the latest technology, is its flexible approach. Being an independent operator it is possible to work individually with clients taking into accounts their idiosyncratic needs and deadlines. As a result it often proves an extremely competitive cost-effective approach for clients.
