Bluechip Systems Validates MicroCloud X4™ to FIPS 140-2 Level 2 to Meet US Federal Requirements for Cryptographic Modules
SANTA CLARA, Calif., October 30, 2017 (Newswire.com) - Bluechip Systems LLC, a leading provider of unique cybersecurity solutions for Government and commercial markets, announces that its MicroCloud X4™ platform has been successfully validated to FIPS 140-2 Level 2 (with Physical Security Level 3) and has been granted certificate #2973.
The Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) Publication 140-2 is a U.S. Government computer security standard used to approve Security Requirements for Cryptographic Modules.
Bluechip Systems' MicroCloud X4™ is a game changer in making endpoints of any network impregnable for any existing attack vector. MicroCloud X4™ brings true end-to-end encryption and FIPS 140-2 certified Data-at-Rest fortification to endpoints which currently cannot be adequately protected for the lack of isolated processing and storage capabilities or for the prohibitive cost of implementing and sustaining such protection.
Uri Kreisman, COO
Dubbed “the tiniest Linux computer ever created”, MicroCloud X4™ is the only FIPS-certified solution in a standard microSD form-factor which provides a complete Hardware-Isolated Linux programmability, Secure Boot with Hardware Root of Trust and obfuscated and encrypted storage container.
The FIPS certification enables Federal Agencies to adopt MicroCloud X4™ as a Linux computer in a microSD form factor, providing hardware isolated cryptographic services to host devices into which it is inserted. Main functions of the Module are Cryptographic Support, User Data Protection, Security Management and Protection of the Security Functionality.
MicroCloud X4™ provides a plug-n-play secure container for SCOPE (Storage, Communication, Operating system, and Processing Environment) through its comprehensive and patented suite of SDK and hardware development kits. Such container is agnostic to host architecture, operational system, networking protocol and crypto engine implementation.
MicroCloud X4™ is powered by Bluechip Systems’ X4 SoC which is based on CoolEngine™ processor. CoolEngine™ Adiabatic Processor Architecture enables MicroCloud X4™ to provide 22GOPS of programmable processing for variety of increasingly demanding algorithms such as Sensor Processing, Machine Learning, and Analytics in addition to the security algorithms at a very small footprint at the edge and with ultra-low power consumption.
“Bluechip Systems’ MicroCloud X4™ is a game changer in making endpoints of any network impregnable for any existing attack vector. MicroCloud X4™ brings true end-to-end encryption and FIPS 140-2 certified Data-at-Rest fortification to endpoints which currently cannot be adequately protected for the lack of isolated processing and storage capabilities or for the prohibitive cost of implementing and sustaining such protection,” said Uri Kreisman, Bluechip Systems COO. “MicroCloud X4™ enables genuine portable Trusted Execution Environment which is physically isolated from a host processor, with familiar and development-friendly integration suite, while ensuring fast path to market at affordable cost.”
MicroCloud X4™ solutions are available to Federal Agencies, system integrators, telecoms, and IoT cybersecurity providers for immediate deployment.
