BMW Nominates Preh for Supplier Innovation Award.

Preh places among top three in the category of Maximum Customer Benefit in BMW's Supplier Innovation Awards.

NOVI, Mich. - Preh, a leading global supplier of automotive interior control systems, was one of three companies nominated for the BMW Supplier Innovation Award 2011, in the category of Maximum Customer Benefit. Besides Preh, the other nominees were automotive suppliers Behr and Brose. In the end, Brose was named winner from the Top Three business finalists, in a ceremony organized internationally in Munich for the first time.

Pleased upon being nominated by BMW for the Supplier Innovation Award, among the high-level, top-class competitors, Dr. Michael Roesnick, president and CEO of Preh GmbH, said, "For our company and the entire staff to be nominated is a great acknowledgment and, at the same time, an incentive to further develop and produce especially innovative products along the path already initiated."

Altogether, there were eight categories in the BMW Supplier Innovation Award, with 24 nominations and a Special Prize. The BMW Group wants to underline the high significance of its premium suppliers with these honors, solidifying BMW's claim to leadership in the field of innovation.

Preh - with headquarters in Bad Neustadt an der Saale, Germany - is an innovative, dynamically growing company in the automotive electronics market. Founded in 1919 as a company for the radio industry, it has become since 2011 strictly an automotive supplier. Preh has become a partner to car manufacturers, with a focus on driver control systems and sensor systems as well as electronic control units. In addition, its division Preh Innovative Automation develops and produces system solutions for assembly and manufacturing lines, predominantly for automotive suppliers. Preh's uniqueness is its high degree of research and development capabilities, as well as its high vertical integration from 65 to 95 percent, which allows Preh to fulfill special customer requirements flexibly and fast with "Pre(h)mium" quality.

In 2011, Preh's revenues will be over €400 million, with approximately 2,650 employees. Apart from the parent manufacturing and development center in Bad Neustadt, Preh oversees manufacturing facilities in Portugal, Mexico, Romania and China, as well as a customer support center in Novi/Detroit, U.S.A. Since the end of June 2011, the Joyson Group of Ningbo/China holds 74.9 percent of Preh GmbH shares, while the remaining 25.1 percent are held by the Deutsche Beteiligungs AG and Preh management.
