Bonnington Plastics Discusses The Christmas Spending Period

Bonnington Plastics, UK based wholesalers discusses the change in the Christmas spending period, and speculates as to how it might alter in the future.

Wholesaler, Bonnington Plastics, discusses how the Christmas spending period has altered over the years and transformed into what people now expect every year from the high street.

For Christmas in the UK, each family is estimated to spend £682 on the entire holiday, including presents, food and decorations, according to the BBC. This fact is only backed up by reports that show that spending on Christmas on the high street has gone up every year since 2002.

A contributing factor to his is the fact that businesses are now offering their Christmas goods a lot earlier on in the year than they ever were before. The main reason behind this is that people feel that they get a better deal on Christmas products if they buy them earlier on in the year.

Large supermarket chains now have an entire isle dedicated to Christmas products by the time it's December, but they start to introduce these goods into their ranges as early as the beginning of October.

There are mixed views on this issue, with many people thinking that supermarkets need to wait until after bonfire night or at least Halloween before they offer Christmas goods. On the other hand, there are many people that like to get their Christmas decoration and present shopping out of the way before there is ever a rush, meaning they are incredibly well-prepared for Christmas.

A Customer Service Representative from Bonnington Plastics commented, "Bonnington Plastics offers Christmas products to wholesalers all year round. This is so that retailers can buy these goods when it suits them, as they may need to buy it and put it in storage at the beginning of the year, but will then get it out and sell it at the end of the year. Every retailer is different, and no matter how they operate, Bonnington Plastics thinks that it's fine to offer Christmas products early."

A shop in Bourton-On-The Water aptly named Christmas Corner sells nothing but Christmas products all year round. As the shop is based in a town that is a hot spot for tourists, they have the customer base to be able to offer this service, but the question remains, will there be a shop like this in every town in the future?

Bonnington Plastics is a wholesaler based in the UK. They have a wide range of different products to offer to all of their retail customers, covered by the Kingfisher brand. The company offer Christmas goods all year round in order to accommodate the different needs that retailers may have, and show that they are flexible and willing to work to the needs to their customers.
