Book Launch for Author Claudio Naranjo, June 19, 2PM Dharma Publishing Berkeley, CA
Online, June 3, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Berkeley, CA: On Saturday, June 19, 2010 at 2:00 p.m., the Tibetan Aid Project and Dharma Publishing will host a book launch for acclaimed author Dr. Claudio Naranjo at the Dharma Publishing bookstore. At the book launch, we will be showcasing Dr. Naranjo's latest book Healing Civilization and revisiting The Way of Silence and the Talking Cure.
Healing Civilization discusses the role male dominance has played in "civilization's sickness." Dr. Naranjo believes that a solution to this problem lies in focusing on "the achievement of psycho-spiritual wholeness" and reforming education. "In other words, education should not only be concerned with people's ability to think and to develop healthy affective ties with one another, but should also cultivate freedom, and take an interest in the happiness of the learners." (Healing Mind)
The Way of Silence and the Talking Cure examines the "application of meditation to the field of therapeutic practice." Dr. Naranjo covers a variety of spiritual traditions with meditation practices, drawing comparisons between meditation and therapy with forty years worth of tested development.
Born in Chile, Dr. Naranjo is one of the pioneers of the Human Potential Development and is well-known for integrating spiritual traditions into therapeutic practice. Dr. Naranjo is the author of several books, as well as the founder of the Seekers after Truth Institute.
