The Missing Link
One Blogger's Drive To Turn Virtual Communities Into Real Connections

Philadelphia PA - April 1, 2010

"It IS pretty interesting, these meet-ups, ex-junkies and evangelists and gay men and everything in between, and we all connect on this plane... online and off." - Georgia Getz

An exciting community-building effort
This April, Bossy is taking her blog on the road, driving across the continental United States to promote the book that she didn't write! This stunt is called Bossy's (No) Book Tour. Each night as she crisscrosses the country, she convenes other bloggers for (no) book signing and (no) book reading events!

Over 450 bloggers across 206 cities and 44 states have signed on to participate in BOSSY'S (no) BOOK TOUR.

Bossy departs for her six-week 12,000-mile road trip on Tuesday April 6, 2010. Where she'll crisscross the continental United States convening over 450 bloggers, city by city and promoting the book she didn't write!

Two years ago, Bossy took on a similar cross-country U.S. road trip to meet, in person, her blog's online community. Sponsored by SATURN, she drove 10,000 miles in five weeks, convening a diverse and dynamic group of bloggers every night in places such as Philadelphia, D.C., Richmond, Atlanta, Orlando, Tallahassee, New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Dallas, Oklahoma, Albuquerque, Scottsdale, San Diego, Laguna Beach, Los Angeles, Palo Alto, San Francisco, Eugene, Portland, Seattle, Boise, Denver, Kansas City, St. Louis, Madison, Chicago, Indianapolis, Detroit and Cleveland.

By day she drove and by night held get-togethers for all the bloggers in the region... and she slept on their COUCHES and in their guest rooms, she wanted to explore the idea that they already felt as though we were close friends without having met... Bossy stayed with gay men and Mormons and a cattle rancher's wife and everything in between... mommy bloggers, gay bloggers, political bloggers, food bloggers, technical bloggers, etc...

It was the first blogger road trip of its scale and kind.

Not only was she meeting these bloggers for the first time, they were meeting each other - unaware who lived in their region. These regional blogging groups have since become a very tight-knit community, getting together often and utilizing each other as a support system.

"Blogging brought us to Bossy, but it was Bossy who brought us together. Bossy's Excellent Road Trip-the catalyst for a continuing community."

"Armed with only a laptop and a Saturn, Bossy drove across the country turning strangers into friends at every stop. St. Louis loves Bossy."

"When Bossy came to town I cleared my schedule and made the trek so that I could hang with a truly remarkable woman. The best thing about that is that she attracts other remarkable people. Bringing people together in real life after getting to know them online is a fascinating beast. I got to meet up with writers and photographers I admire and now keep in touch with regularly. She's a real Connector. And she's also still quite remarkable."

Bossy, otherwise known as Georgia Getz, is a humor/pop culture blogger from iambossy.com, where she enjoys a smart, educated, dedicated audience of approximately 14,000 page views a day.

With corporate sponsors FORD (Bossy will be driving a Ford Fusion), BURGER KING, ATLANTIC RECORDS and SEATTLE'S BEST COFFEE it is surely going to be a stimulating journey!
